Raised in Decatur, Ga, Young.n started rapping at the age of 12 as just something to do with his friends to pass the time with his friends during class. Eventually, he found a love for making music and music in general. After relocating to Covington, he started recording at his friend’s house who showed him the ropes into mixing and producing music. From there, he was producing and releasing music under the name Joe’l Leonne aka BeatsDeLeonne in which he released 3 mixtapes on Datpiff.

Young.n continued his music career while going to college and recording in his dorm rooms. He often said he was barely in class due to making music and relationship which ultimately influenced him to drop out of college to pursue his real dream. This dream was put on hold temporarily when he decided to join the military. During his time served in the Navy, he would write constantly to “never lose his personality” as he says and it was a natural love. After discharge, Young.n’s life took another downfall when he lost his job.

His life and family were falling apart and he used music as the only outlet to voice himself. From then on, he has been a voice for heartbreak, struggles, survival, and revival. His melodic and rhythmic tunes range in genre-bending and catchy sounds that can put you in a chokehold. His recent successful singles “A Different World” and “Hawaiian Punch” are fan favorites and his recent album “Johnny Lovely” (The Album) is proof that Young.n deserves to be talked about.

With R&B and rap songs included, the album shows that we may not know everything Young.n is capable of yet but we are definitely interested! He has another album expected to be released by the end of the summer even though a name hasn’t been released yet but be sure to prepare yourself for anything that might come. We think Young.n is here to stay and we’re ready to watch him grow.
